Does SQL SERVER MANAGEMENT come with Visual Studio Prof 2005?

I'm following a video tutorial about SQL wherein I'm told to download SQL SERVER MANAGEMENT STUDIO EXPRESS. However I have just bought and installed the whole MS visual studio pro 2005 along with the SQL that comes with it.

I'm afraid to download and install the SQL SERVER MANAGEMENT STUDIO in case it botches up my prg already installed. Can anyone tell me if this management tool is already installed along with the package I have (if so, where is it - not listed in programs)

Thank you for your time.

SQL Server 2005 Developer is included with the Pro VS, this includes the full version of the SQL Server Management Tools. In regards to the tutorial you are using the functions are exactly the same... you actually have more functions in the Developer Version.

Thanks Glenn

Sorry to be so thick but can you tell me how to open the management console? (I'm totally new to VS and SQL and it's not obviously listed on the programs start menu) All there is under SQL Server on the start menu is: SQL Server configuration tools (and none of these mention a server management area).

here is the list of available options under that menu:
'Notifications Services command prompt'
''SQL Server configuration manager' and
''SQL Server error usage and report' and
'SQL Server surface area configuration'

Thanks again for your help

Does SQL Express support upgrade from MSDE2000 Chinese Edition?

I've tried to download the sql express and install, but it doesn't allow me to select upgrade the default instance (which i've installed msde2000 chinese edtion), it told me due to the language problem, sql express can't upgrade the default instance and only could install sql express in new instance.

I have no idea for the language edition for sql express since the download page doesn't have a language selection.

So does anyone know that,
1. would sql express have multi language edtion ?
2. if sql express would have one language edtion, how could install it to upgrade from one existing msde2000 simplified chinese edtion ?Upgrading across languages is not supported. If you want to upgrade your Chinese databases you'll need to wait until the Chinese edition of Express is released. The currently released version of Express is English only.

Does SQL 7.0 SP4 include security patch?

Does anyone know if the SQL Server 7.0 service pack 4 that you download from
Microsoft today include the 327068 Security Patch? Or do you have to
download and install it seperately?Hi Mike,
Check this article - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/327068. It says
specifically that:
Before you apply the patch, you must install SQL Server 7.0 Service Pack
4 (SP4)

Does anyone know that where have the most mssql extended procedures for download?

I have a extended procedure for sending email by smtp already.

Are there anywheres can be downloaded the rest?
e.g. copy, move, detect, and delete some files and directories in harddisk
access Active directories
read and write .ini files
etc......I suggest you search 'Books Online', the help files for MS Sql Server.|||I just know C# & VB only, and i don't know C/C++.

those are useless.
