I have a SQL Server 2005 CLuster; Does SQL SERVER BROWSER service need to
be a clustered resource. It wasn't set up that way, but I was just

Does SQL Express suport SQL Agant?

hi

As you may know by default instalation SQL Agant node in

object browser in Management Studio is not shown or is disabled.

For me It is not shown. So I enabled OLE Automation in

Surface Area configuration.Even by doing this I can't find the SQL Agant service in

Control Panel\Administrative Tools\Services

so I want to know should I do any thing else or does SQL Express suport SQL Agant service at all?

thanks

SQL Server Agent is not included with SQL Express.

Does 2k5 Reporting Services need IIS?

I'd like to produce dynamic reports via SQL Server 2k5 Reporting
Services that can be rendered in a web browser. However, I don't want
anything to do with IIS or a web server. From what I've heard,
previous version of SQL Server Reporting Services needed IIS. Is this
true for 2k5?
Thanks,
BrettRS 2005 comes with WebForm and WinForm controls for showing reports. Also, t
hese can be client side
only (where the reporting engine is essentially built into the controls). Bu
t this is about as much
as I know. I suggest you post this to an RS forum, where you are more likely
to get a precise
response.

These controls can either work with RS or can run in local mode where no
server is required. It takes some more work, especially for subreports, jump
to report etc but it works quite well. In local mode you give it the report
and the data and then it renders it.

document map works in preview but not in browser

Hi,
I have a strange issue - the document map works in preview mode but not when
used in the browser. No doubt this is a configuration issue in IE, but I
can't find it. Any ideas?
TIA,
Paul IbisonCan you be more specific? What do you mean it doesn't work? Do you get an
error when you click on a node in the doc map tree? Do you get an error in
the document map frame? Is the document map not showing up at all?
What version of IE are you using?

the version of IE is 6.0. The document map appears correctly and expands,
contracts etc. However when clicking on a node there is no repositioning of
the main document. Strangely, in the development environment on the same box
it works fine. BTW, the problem applies using either the report manager or
the reports service.
TIA,
Paul Ibison|||Are you seeing any script errors in the browser (check the lower left corner
of the IE window for a warning icon)?

no, there aren't any errors or warnings. I've even tried with two textboxes
and no datasets or other complications, with the same result.

Document map icon disappears!

Has anyone experienced this? One of our users cannot see the Document Map
icon on any report he views.
Clearly this is an issue with his browser or O/S or how his system is
configured, as everyone else can see the icon (and the map!).
Any pointers to what might be causing this greatly appreciated.
ThanksIt would appear to be the browser version. Upgraded to v6 of IE and problem
solved! :)
